It is very important to protect deciduous teeth because deciduous teeth are the best space maintainers for the permanent teeth.
Early loss of deciduous teeth results in:
1-Lack of forward growth of the alveolar processes
2-Partial or complete loss of the space heeded for the eruption
of permanent teeth.
3-over eruption of the teeth opposite to the early lost deciduous
teeth.
4-Forward or lateral shift of the mandible resulting in anterior
or posterior crossbite
